Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences

Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University) is located in the Southeast region of Norway at six different campuses. The total number of students are nearly 15 000.

In addition to the degree programmes at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level, INN University has a wide range of one-year studies and shorter courses that respond to society’s need for lifelong learning. The studies have an interdisciplinary, practice-oriented and professional profile, organized as both full-time and part-time studies as well as decentralised and flexible studies.  

Inn University is an important competence institution, cooperating with the working and social life in the Innlandet County region.

The Faculty of Health- and Social Studies

The Faculty of Social and Health Sciences offers health and social science bachelor’s programmes in nursing, social education, child welfare and social work, as well as physical education, sports, public health and dental care.

The Department of Health and Nursing Sciences are located at the campus Terningen Arena in Elverum – a city with approximately 13 000 inhabitants. Among 200 students are enrolled in The Bachelor’s Programme in Nursing every year. Additional to the Bachelor’s Programme in nursing the INN University offers a Nurse Practitioner Master’s Programme (35 students) and Master’s programmes in Intensive Care, Cancer Care and Operating Room Nursing (in total 25 students).

The Research profile at the INN University is closely linked to the educational offering and the faculty’s strategic research areas: Health, Care and Quality of Life. The Resarch group Health and Care in a Life Course Perspective was established in 2022. Several projects related to nursing research are ongoing.

The Faculty of Social and Health Sciences is responsible for the interdisciplinary PhD program in Health and Welfare (180 ECTS).
